A 24-year-old man who had been wanted since April 12 in an armed robbery gone wrong in Bailey's Crossroads has been arrested, police said.
Abner Neftali Selen Barrera approached a man getting out of his car on Lake Street in Bailey's Crossroads around 5 a.m. on Friday, April 12, then pulled out a gun and demanded his property, police said.
A struggle ensued and the victim was shot in the lower body, and hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries, police said. Barrera, of Del Ray, was identified as a suspect and arrested in Alexandria on Tuesday, April 30, police said.

Police have announced the arrest of a bank robber wanted in incidents in both Stafford and Prince William County.
Bobby Winstead III, 34, of Lorton, has been charged with robbery, attempted robbery, and use of a firearm in commission of a felony, and using a mask with the intent to conceal his identity in connection with the series of incidents dating back to early February, authorities announced.

Pals Assault Victim In Jewelry Heist Gone Wrong In Arlington: Cops
Two friends who share the same last name were arrested in Arlington for assaulting a man in an apparent robbery gone wrong, police said.
Jose Osorio, 28, and Jason Osorio, 32, both of Arlington, assaulted the victim and tried to steal his jewelry outside of a home on the 5600 block of 8th Street around 4:15 a.m. April 28, county officials said.
The Osarios fled on foot and the victim was left with serious but non-life-threatening injuries, police said.

An unlicensed driver wanted in a hit-and-run crash that killed a 20-year-old motorcyclist last week has surrendered, police in Prince William County said.
Michael Eugene Dyer Jr., 34, of Woodbridge, was heading north near Pine Bluff Drive in a Chevrolet Colorado pickup truck when he struck Joseph Word on a 2023 Kawasaki Ninja 400R, who was heading south on Richmond Highway late Wednesday night, April 24, Prince William County police said.
