Playing Doctor: Drunk Stafford Man Tries To Give Hospital Patient Drugs, Police Say A Stafford man was arrested for multiple crimes he committed while drunk, police said.Early in the morning of Sept. 27, Charlie Dotson, 65, visited the Stafford Hospital and tried to give a patient drugs, according to the Stafford County Sheriff's Office. When law enforcement arrived at the hospital, Dotson admitted that he took a controlled substance, hit a car while driving, and parked illegally in a handicap parking spot, authorities said. Inmate Serving Life Sentence For VA Murder Charged For Assaulting Prison Officer: DA A corrections officer is in a coma after an inmate, who was serving a sentence for a 2001 Virginia murder, assaulted him, officials said. Roy Booth was charged for hitting Officer Matthew Tidman multiple times with a metal pole, while they were both inside a Massachusetts prison, according to the Middlesex County District Attorney's office. Arlington Group Rescues Dogs, Cats From Puerto Rico After Hurricane Fiona: Report Lucky Dog Animal Rescue in Arlington saved 30 dogs and cats from Puerto Rico, after it was impacted by Hurricane Fiona, WTOP reported. The nonprofit rescue organization brought these animals to Virginia so that Puerto Ricans can focus on rebuilding what was left of their homes after the hurricane, the website said. Woodbridge Man Strangled Relative In His Home: Police A Woodbridge man was arrested for assaulting a family member in his home, police said. James Henderson, 42, got violent during an argument in the 14700 block of River Walk Way on Sept. 27, according to the Prince William County Police Department. Henderson beat the woman and strangled her, officials said. When Henderson and the victim finally separated, law enforcement was contacted and Henderson was arrested, authorities reported. He was charged with strangulation and assault and battery, police said. Henderson had a pending court date. There was no bond information available.

Pedestrian, 63, Killed In Manassas Crash: Police A 63-year-old man was killed in Manassas while trying to cross a local street, police said. The man was walking near Balls Ford Road at around 8 p.m. on Sept. 27, when he was hit by a GMC Terrain, according to the Prince William County Police Department. When he was hit by the car, the victim was allegedly walking with traffic and wearing dark-colored clothing, authorities said. Officials said was pronounced dead at the scene. Suspect Convicted For 2019 Prince William County Robbery, Fatal Shooting A man was convicted for his role in a 2019 robbery and murder, on Tuesday, Sept. 27, Prince William County officials said. On Dec. 26, 2019, Jordan Anderson and his accomplice went into a Denny's, on Sudley Road, at around 3 a.m., according to the Prince William County Police Department. Arlington Ranks Third Among Best Cities For Families, Website Said Arlington was ranked the third most family-friendly city in the U.S., according to Opendoor. Though Arlington has many redeeming qualities, its small-town feel is a great combination of outdoor spaces and a wide variety of restaurants, the website said. Arlington, among Cambridge, MA and Cliffside Park, NJ that were ranked first and second, respectively, was tagged as "family friendly" on Opendoor's home buying online program, the company said.
