New York is well-represented on U.S. News & World Report's latest rankings of the nation's best high schools. The brand-new rankings were released Tuesday morning, April 23, and determined by performance on state-required tests, graduation, and how well they prepare students for college. Ground beef products distributed nationwide may be contaminated with E. coli and should not be consumed, the US Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) announced. FSIS has issued a Public Health Alert on Saturday afternoon, April 20.warning consumers about the issue. A recall was not requested because the products are no longer available for purchase. Police are asking for tips after a 76-year-old man was beaten to death on a popular biking trail in the region. Emergency crews in Albany County were called shortly before 4 p.m. Thursday, April 18, for an injured walker who was unconscious on the Mohawk Hudson Bike Trail in Menands. Medics attempted to revive the man, but he was pronounced dead at the scene, according to New York State Police. A cable company employee was electrocuted while working on a utility pole in the region. The Albany County incident happened at around 2 a.m. Friday, April 19, in the town of Berne on Long Road.
