New Jersey's Attorney General has identified the scooter driver killed in a Monmouth County crash and the police officer involved in the wreck. Guyvenson Innocent, 35, of Beachwood, died in the crash on Monday, Apr. 15, the state Attorney General's office said in a news release on Wednesday, May 1. A Somers Point couple admitted to using their teen son to sell marijuana and psychedelic mushrooms through an unlicensed business promoted on Facebook, authorities said. Donna Shiffer, 40, pleaded guilty to several charges on Tuesday, Apr. 30, the Atlantic County Prosecutor's Office said in a news release. Newly-obtained documents paint a harrowing picture of a deadly New Jersey stabbing. Jason Torres, 32, left a trail of blood from the second floor of the home where he was stabbed to the sidewalk near Smith and Maple streets in Perth Amboy at approximately 9 p.m. Sunday, April 28, according to the affidavit for probable cause. A teen from Newark was accused of stealing a vehicle in Ocean County, authorities said. Fazon Farrington, 19, was charged on Monday, Apr. 29 with theft of movable property and burglary. A toddler who walked alone across a busy Ocean County road was rescued by good Samaritans, authorities said. Berkeley Township police received calls about the toddler walking across Route 9 near Morris Boulevard at around 10 a.m. on Tuesday, Apr. 30, the department said in a news release. Repairs To Beach's Erosion 'Hot Spot' Approved In Jersey Shore Borough
A Cape May County borough has approved a plan to fix erosion-damaged parts of the beach in time for the summer. Avalon is expected to begin a sand back passing project on or around Monday, May 13, the borough said in a Facebook post on Tuesday, Apr. 30. Crews will move about 55,000 cubic yards of sand to beaches in Avalon's north end that suffered erosion during winter storms.
