Jackknifed Trailer Downs Electrical Pole On Routes 1&9 In Elizabeth
A tractor trailer crash shut Routes 1&9 in Elizabeth early Thursday, May 16. The crash happened just before 6 a.m. at Maple Avenue, taking down an electrical pole that had a transformer, city officials and the DOT site shows. Police are requesting motorists and pedestrians avoid the area.

Warrant Issued For Armed Man Who Robbed Liquor Store: Newark PD
A warrant has been issued for a 54-year-old Newark man who robbed a liquor store while armed, authorities said. On Monday, March 25 at 9:26 p.m., police responded to the New Silver Key Liquor Store at 250 Broadway on a report of a armed robbery, Newark Public Safety Director Fritz G. Fragé said. Jeffrey Carr walked behind the counter brandishing a weapon and demanded the cashier place money from inside the cash register into a black plastic bag, Fragé said. NJ Transit Changing Refund Policy After Criticism
NJ Transit is continuing to tweak its ticket policy. NJ Transit announced that refunds will be made available for unused one-way tickets purchased prior to Saturday, June 1. The refund policy will also apply to rail 10-trip tickets. Tickets purchased on or after June 1 must be used by the end of July and will not be eligible for refunds. Last month, NJ Transit announced all tickets purchased prior to July 1 will expire on July 31, regardless of their original date of purchase. Police have announced the arrest of a New Jersey woman seen in a disturbing video being circulated on social media. Multiple people called Trenton police on Wednesday, May 15, to report the video in which Vivian M. Harrell, 37, abuses an 8-week-old child, the department said.
