Police and state environmental police are searching for an aggressive fox that attacked a man and a dog in Connecticut. The incidents occurred in Windham County on Monday, March 25 at several locations in the town of Putnam. According to the Putnam Police, around 3:50 p.m., officers responded to the area of 342 Church St. for the report of an aggressive fox, that attacked a man. A New York woman is mourning the loss of her beloved pet donkey after the animal was killed by a bear. Columbia County resident Laura-Ann Camissa told News10 ABC in Albany that the attack happened sometime overnight Monday, Oct. 3, at her home in the town of Claverack, where she frequently takes in unwanted donkeys. Health Department officials are urging anyone who may have come in contact with suspicious raccoons to seek medical attention after two raccoons who attacked domesticated pets tested positive for rabies in Anne Arundel County, officials say. The first raccoon attacked a pet and was killed by the pet owner near the intersection of Laico Lane and Dock Road in Pasadena. Two people reportedly have been attacked by a fox in Monmouth County, authorities said. Rumson police are warning residents of wildlife attacks in their borough as well as surrounding towns. The Rumson fox bites reportedly occurred about 8:30 p.m. Saturday near Piping Rock Park, police said. Bergen County officials closed the Ramapo Valley County Reservation in Mahwah until further notice after a woman and a dog were injured in separate coyote attacks Saturday. Police are warning residents after separate incidents in which coyotes killed one dog and attacked another in New Canaan. Both incidents occurred in the southwest area of town, police said. A Connecticut farmer and her family are mourning the loss of five goats to a bear. Deer Attack: Parking Enforcement Officer Injured By Buck In Northern Westchester
A Northern Westchester parking enforcement officer has been hospitalized after being attacked by a deer on her property located on the Montrose/Verplanck border. According to Michael Preziosi, director of the town’s Department of Technical Services, the unidentified employee in Cortlandt was attacked at her private residence. An agitated hawk has attacked at least two people and there have been another five complaints, according to Bridgeport City officials. Coyote Kills Puppy In New Canaan
While there have been 11 bobcat sightings in New Canaan recently, its Police Department is pretty certain Friday night's fatal attack on a puppy involved a coyote. "I'm assuming it was a coyote," New Canaan Animal Control Officer Allyson Halm told Daily Voice on Tuesday, April 10. "They're very territorial and it was late at night." The small, 5-month-old puppy was killed along Smith Ridge Road, not far from a country club golf course. "Our pets are always at risk,'' Halm said.
