Child Struck By School Bus In Monsey, Police Say
A 6-year-old Hudson Valley boy is recovering after being struck by a school bus. The incident occurred in Rockland County around 9:30 a.m., Tuesday, March 26 in Monsey. According to Det. Lt. Chris Franklin of the Ramapo Police, the child was struck by a school bus on West Maple Avenue. Franklin said the child suffered serious, but non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to the hospital by Hatzolah Ambulance Corps. A man was injured after being hit by a vehicle at a busy intersection in Westchester. The incident happened on Thursday, March 14 around midnight, when a pedestrian was struck in Yonkers in the area of Central Park Avenue and Clark Street, according to Yonkers Police Sgt. A tractor-trailer has overturned initially closing all lanes of the New Jersey Turnpike near its interchange with the Garden State Parkway, authorities said. The crash occurred shortly after 2 p.m. on Thursday, March 7 on the outer roadway northbound near the exit ramp to Interchange 11, according to 511nj.org. A landscaping truck plowed through the front of a restaurant in West Orange Tuesday afternoon, a spokesman for the township confirmed. The truck left the roadway and struck Huguito's Restaurant & Bar on White Street around 4:40 p.m. The building inspector and West Orange first responders were at the scene Tuesday afternoon. An 84-year-old Wyckoff woman was hospitalized with injuries that authorities didn't consider life-threatening after she was struck at a busy intersection around noon.
