Fox Lane HS Senior Ranked Top Cellist In New York State: 'Incredibly Proud'
A high school senior from Northern Westchester has earned state-wide recognition for her musical chops. Cameron Bly, a senior at Fox Lane High School in Bedford, won the principal cellist seat at the All-State Orchestra Winter Conference held in Rochester by the New York State School Music Association, Bedford Central School District officials announced on Wednesday, Dec. 6. This win officially names Bly as the top-ranking cellist in the state of New York, according to the district. "We are incredibly proud of this accomplishment!" district officials said.

In Danbury, Rogers Park Middle School Principal, Dr. Kristy Zaleta, accepted the award from the Connecticut Association of Latino Administrators and Superintendents. A Long Island high school student was selected for the 2022 New York State School Music Association All-State Band. An 11-year-old from Enola has won a seat on Sun-Maid's Board of Imagination. Presley Conway, 11, was selected out of 1,300 children across America who entered to win a seat on the board last February. The winning idea she pitched in her video entry was cutting dried mangoes into smaller pieces than the traditional slices and selling them with chocolate dipping sauce for snacking. 27 From Westchester Named Regeneron Science Scholars
A total of 31 of the Hudson Valley's best and brightest high school seniors were among 300 chosen to compete with some of the nation’s top students in the Regeneron Science Talent Search competition. The 300 scholars were chosen out of 1,760 applications that were received from 611 high schools across 49 states. MA, CT Public Schools Get Highest Grades In Nation
Massachusetts, Connecticut, and New Jersey have the best public school systems in the United States, according to a new education report. EdWeek Research Center’s annual “Quality Counts” report grades each state’s public school system on a scale of A to F. The ranking takes into account student success, school finances and student achievement then awards a score on a scale of 1 to 100 (the higher the score, the better the letter grade).
