Terrence A. Savoy, 32, of Laurel, was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol after striking the man near the 7800 block of Contee Road shortly before 4 p.m. on Sunday, March 3, police said. The man was taken to a nearby hospital with severe injuries and pronounced dead on Tuesday, March 5. His identity was being withheld pending family notification. Man Who Terrorized Taxi Drivers During Short-Lived Robbery Spree In Hyattsville Sentenced The man who targeted and terrorized taxi and rideshare drivers in Maryland on multiple occasions will have plenty of time to reconsider his actions behind bars. Omar Hernandez, 21, of Hyattsville, pleaded guilty this week to robbing a taxi or rideshare driver in three separate incidents, and has been sentenced to 35 years in prison with all but 10 years suspended, according to the Prince George's County State's Attorney's Office.
