A lost hiker in the Hudson Valley was rescued by forest rangers from the state Department of Environmental Conservation after a search that took several hours. A tractor-trailer rollover proved extra messy when the vehicle began leaking diesel fuel into a river underneath a highway in Northern Westchester. The crash happened on Friday, Aug. 4 around 9:30 a.m., when the Katonah Fire Department responded to Interstate 684 Northbound in the area of Exit 6 in Bedford, where a tractor-trailer had rolled over. An electrician with the New York City Department of Environmental Protection has pleaded guilty to using a stash house on Long Island to produce ecstasy and grown marijuana. Joseph Guida, 45, of Elmhurst, entered his plea on Wednesday, Oct. 16, at the federal courthouse in Central Islip. The identities have been released of the two men found dead after a New Year's Eve boating accident in a reservoir in Northern Westchester, New York State Police said. Missing Teacher From Northern Westchester Found Dead
The Westchester teacher who was reported missing by his family last week was found dead near the Kensico Reservoir over the weekend. The body of Jorge Crespo, a Yorktown resident who taught art at Yonkers Middle School, was found on property owned by the New York City Department of Environmental Protection (DEP).
