Firefighters in Massapequa responded to a reported house fire at approximately 6:30 p.m. on Monday, May 9 on Croyden Drive that broke out inside the residence. The home sustained “substantial damage” during the fire, a Nassau County Police Department spokesperson said, though fire crews were able to keep the fire from spreading. First responders in Nassau County responded to a Bayview Avenue home in Wantagh shortly before 3:30 a.m. on Friday, Nov. 12, where there was a report of a home fully engulfed in flames. The fire started around 10:50 p.m., Monday, July 5 when the family was having dinner at their Cove Street home in Massapequa when they heard the noise. The family followed the "crackling sound" and found that the exterior side of the house was on fire and called 911, said the Nassau County Police.
