New Rochelle Native Richard Roundtree, Known For 'Shaft' Film Series, Dies
Westchester native Richard Roundtree, who was known for portraying John Shaft in the popular "Shaft" film series and broke ground as one of the first Black action heroes, has died after a battle with cancer.
Roundtree, who was born in New Rochelle in 1942, died on Tuesday afternoon, Oct. 24 at the age of 81 after a battle with pancreatic cancer, according to numerous reports.

Dominic Kyrie Lyons, a beloved Norristown son and brother, died suddenly in his sleep on Sunday, July 16, according to his obituary. He was 6 years old.
Born in 2017 to Kristen F. Sabatino and Husayn Lyons, Dominic had recently graduated from kindergarten at the Musselman Learning Center, loved ones wrote.

Ralph Macajoux, a lifelong resident of West Orange, died on Sunday, July 2 at the age of 49, following a brief illness, according to his obituary.
Macajoux was a youth behavioral therapist, working at the Spectrum 360 Academy in Livingston and the Jewish Community Center in West Orange, helping young adults with special needs, his obituary reads.
