The incident happened at around 8:40 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 13, on Route 9 in Columbia County, in the town of Kinderhook. State Police said a 2011 Hyundai Santa Fe was southbound when the golf cart entered the roadway near Maple Lane South and the vehicles collided. Columbia County resident Misael Chun Pastor, age 36, of Kinderhook, was arrested Thursday, May 5, on numerous charges, New York State Police said. Among them are predatory sexual assault against a child in the first degree, a felony. Following a tip, investigators determined that Chun Pastor had sexually assaulted a child under the age of 13 on multiple occasions, police said. Long Island Man Charged With DWI In Upstate Stop A Long Island man was arrested for alleged impaired driving in upstate New York over the weekend. Greenport resident Robert Newberry, 24, was stopped by New York State Police troopers from Kinderhook on Sunday, Oct. 20, for a vehicle and traffic law violation on Route 9H in Kinderhook in Columbia County. During the traffic stop, the investigation determined that Newberry was allegedly intoxicated and he was arrested. Following his processing, Newberry was released and is scheduled to appear in court at a later date to respond to the charge. No return court date has been announced.
