Devlin, a longtime member and one-time deputy commissioner of the Philadelphia Fire Department, died last Sunday, Jan. 14, his colleagues said. Resident Rescued From Burning Home In Philadelphia, Authorities Say One person was pulled from their burning West Philadelphia home and treated for injuries early on Tuesday, Aug. 1, according to authorities.  It happened near the corner of North 57th and Harmer streets around 6 a.m., the Fire Department confirmed to Daily Voice.  The resident was rescued, evaluated at the scene by first responders, and taken to a nearby hospital for treatment, PFD said.
