Football Star, 24, Dies Of Injuries From Trenton Shooting: Prosecutor
A 24-year-old man from Mercer County died of injuries suffered in a shooting in Trenton earlier this month, authorities said.
Justin Prescott Reed, of Ewing, died on May 22, as a result of injuries he sustained in the May 14 shooting on Brunswick Avenue, the Mercer County Prosecutor's Office said on Wednesday, May 31.
No arrests had been made in the shooting as of press time, authorities said.
Reed was a star football player at Ewing High School. He later played football at Delaware Valley University, Monroe College and Mercer Community College, his obituary said.

Former North Jersey athlete Flynn Brown was killed in a Mississippi shooting, several news reports say. He was 22.
Brown was a 2019 graduate of Mount Olive High School, where he played football before continuing his promising athletic career at Jackson State University, a tribute from a local sports page said.
While the investigation is ongoing, a suspect — Randall Smith, a 20-year-old JSU freshman, was charged with murder and held without bond after Brown's body was found in a vehicle on campus around 8:30 a.m. on Friday, Dec. 2, according to WAPT.

Former College Football Standout Who Lived In Westchester Dies At Age 45
A Westchester County resident and former college football standout has died at the age of 45.
James “Dylan” Karczewski, of Larchmont, died unexpectedly on Wednesday, Feb. 9, according to his obituary.
Karczewski grew up in Michigan, where he gained recognition for his skills as a running back.
He went on to be a four-year letterman in the football program at Dartmouth College.
He is survived by his wife, Meaghan, and his two children, Cavan and Win, and his parents, James and Katie.
