A suspected catalytic converter thief from New York has been nabbed over five years later following an investigation that began in Connecticut and spanned two states and three counties. Jeraud Anthony, age 38, of the Bronx, was arrested on multiple charges Monday, Feb. 12, in connection with a stolen catalytic converter outside a business in Fairfield County. A man and woman both face charges after they were caught on a Northern Westchester parkway in a stolen vehicle that had been driving from the scene of a crime, police said. The incident happened on Saturday, Aug. 5 just before 1:15 p.m., when Yorktown Police were notified of a stolen vehicle driving north on the Taconic State Parkway that had allegedly been involved in a crime committed in New York City. A woman has claimed a $1,000,000 prize from the New York Lottery’s Mega Millions scratch-off game. NY Lottery announed on Monday, Nov. 8, that Barbara Petio, of the Bronx, had claimed the top prize. “This is just crazy,” Petio said. Police have identified the heavily armed 10 adults and one juvenile who were apprehended after an hours-long standoff in a wooded area off a busy stretch of Interstate 95 and announced the charges against them. After observing a suspected drug deal, Springfield Police seized the 123rd illegal firearm recovered in the city this year. The incident also led to four arrests. On Wednesday, Oct. 7, at around 11 a.m., Springfield Police saw a suspected drug deal in the parking lot on the 500 block of Sumner Avenue, after which the suspects drove away in two vehicles.
