Moose Rescued After Getting Stuck On Fence In Barkhamsted Authorities in Connecticut rescued a moose after the animal became trapped on a fence. Wardens responded to a report of a moose stuck on a fence in the Litchfield County town of Barkhamsted at about midnight on Saturday, Oct. 1, according to Connecticut State Environmental Conservation Police. Officials said the moose was unable to get its back legs over the fence, and the animal's belly stopped it from being able to back up. First responders were dispatched to a residential fire on Old North Road in Barkhamsted at approximately 2 p.m. on Monday, April 25, according to Connecticut State Police. Two Killed, One Seriously Injured In Head-On Crash, State Police Say Two men were killed and another seriously injured after a head-on crash late Friday afternoon in central Connecticut, state police said on Saturday morning.Devin Gilbert, 24, of Barkhamsted and Keith Gillespie, 61, of Avon were pronounced dead at the scene of the crash, which occurred around 4 p.m. on Route 44 in Barkhamsted, according to police.
