At 10:46 p.m., a man walked into a business on Broadway and Bloomfield Place, approached the register and pulled an assault rifle out of a bag and announced a robbery, Newark Public Safety Director Fritz Fragé said. A Hudson Valley man was charged with having an assault rifle without serial numbers during a traffic stop by state police. Orange County resident, Joshua Ayuk, age 30, of the city of Port Jervis, was arrested on Friday, May 19, during a traffic stop by New York State Police in the village of Saugerties. A Long Island man is accused of threatening to harm a police officer with an assault rifle, authorities said. A Nassau County Police sergeant phoned Donald Schreiner, aged 34, of Oceanside, at 8:35 p.m. on Thursday, March 30 to follow up on a complaint Schreiner had submitted, according to police.
