Group Comes Under Fire In Abington Park, Police Say Authorities are investigating after a group of people were shot at in Abington's Crestmont Park.  Police said it happened last Saturday, April 27 around 10:15 p.m. The shots missed the victims but damaged their vehicles, officials said.  The shooters fled the park in a dark-colored sedan, according to police.   "None of the individuals had any idea who would have targeted them for this attack," they noted.  Anyone with information should call APD Detective Bob Hill at 267-536-1100.

64 Grams Of Meth Seized During Allentown Arrest, Police Say A routine police patrol in Allentown on Wednesday, March 27 ended in one arrest and the seizure of 64 grams of methamphetamine, according to authorities.  APD said patrol officers were on the 1400 block of Martin Luther King Drive around 3 p.m. when they stopped to investigate a suspicious vehicle and a person "loitering in the area."  Rafael Jose Heredia, 30, was arrested and charged with drug possession with intent to deliver and related counts, police said.  He's being held in lieu of a $50,000 bond and has a preliminary hearing on April 5, court records show

The first call came in around 12:05 p.m., targeting the Charles Barrett Elementary School, at 1115 Martha Cutis Dr., a spokesperson for the sheriff's office said. The caller said someone would be at the school with guns, officials said. Allentown Police Chaplain Angel Ramos Dies: Officials Angel Ramos, an Allentown pastor and longtime police chaplain, has died, the department announced on Thursday, Jan. 18.  Ramos had served as APD's chaplain for 27 years, said Chief Charles Roca in a statement.  "Pastor Ramos served the city and its residents with distinction," the chief said. "Our thoughts and prayers are with him and his family during this time." His Facebook profile says he studied at Colegio San José in Río Piedras, Puerto Rico, and that he served in the US Army during the Vietnam War.  Ramos is survived by his wife.
