Yorktown's Thomas Jefferson School Celebrates Fall Festival

YORKTOWN, N.Y. -- Families, friends and staff turned out Saturday, Oct. 17, to celebrate the Thomas Jefferson Elementary School PTA's selection as a National PTA School of Excellence. The school was holding its first Fall Festival on Saturday as well.

The school was chosen for its achievement in building effective family-school partnerships. Being recognized as a National PTA School of Excellence demonstrates Thomas Jefferson Elementary and TJ PTA’s leadership and commitment to partnering to support student success and continuous school improvement. 

Thomas Jefferson ES is one of only four PTAs in New York State selected for this honor this year and the only one in the Hudson Valley. It joins the Van Cortlandtville ES PTA as a National School of Excellence in the Lakeland Central School District.
