Superintendent Joseph Hochreiter said he requested that law enforcement have a presence at all five schools in the Hendrick Hudson School District on Thursday and Friday.
"We understand that there are concerns around safety and we have taking these concerns seriously," Hochreiter said. "[We] are asking all of our local law enforcement agencies to support us in making sure our students are safe and secure in the final two days of this week.
Hochreiter said he hoped parents would still send their kids to school despite the lockdowns.
"School is important and needs to remain a priority," Hochreiter said. "The presence of law enforcement agencies will help ensure that learning can take place in a safe and orderly environment."
