Croton's Carrie E. Tompkins School Celebrates Native American Culture

CROTON-ON-HUDSON, N.Y. -- Carrie E. Tompkins Elementary School fourth-graders learned about trading practices, crafted intricate necklaces, played traditional games and contemplated the use of artifacts as part of the Croton-Harmon School District’s first Native American Day on Friday, Oct. 3.

Students spent the day rotating between classrooms and the outdoors to participate in five unique activities as a way of familiarizing themselves with Native American culture as their studies shift to  Native American history.
