The Croton-Harmon school district school made the donation just in time for the Thanksgiving holiday.
“We are so thankful to our students and their families for making Thanksgiving a holiday for all to enjoy,” said Renee Tanner, school social worker who oversaw the effort. “Each grade was assigned a specific type of food.”
In just two weeks, the food was collected for the effort, officials said. Kindergartners collected cereal; first-graders brought in canned fruit and vegetables; second-grade students donated pasta and soup; third-graders brought in snacks and drinks; and fourth-grade students added boxed side dishes.
