As long as nobody enforces any rule requiring truthful statements, Ryan may do well in debate. He has the huckster's gift that makes electing people like him and Romney and McMahon, so they can get richer while we get poorer and more debt gets passed along to our grandchildren, sound so reasonable. He is a dangerous man in the same way that deranged minister with the kool aid was a dangerous man.

Ryan said, in a recent interview, he had runa marathon in under three hours. excellent time, if true. Fact is he only ever ran one marathon and racked up a little over four hours. He thought it was funny when his lie was pointed put to him.
A guy that lies over something like that and then laughs about it, when confronted with the record, does not inspire much confidence. He fits right in with Romney and all his stories about paying taxes, as long as he doesn't have to show his tax returns.

Ever since Reagan campaigned on how horrified he was by a national debt approaching a trillion and, while he was in office, it grew to three trillion, I have been very leery of conservative Repubs making similar noises. They talk about tax cuts for the wealthy, and taking on the unions. Unless you are very wealthy, these two are bad news. They believe in "trickle-down" economics, just like Reagan and George W. Bush did, and party on private yachts registered in the Cayman Islands.

Has there ever been a convention before where the most recent president of their party was not even mentioned ?

This guy amaze me by his works. Brilliant ideas and the way he delivered her thoughts. I am a graduate from one of the ultrasound technician schools in California.

Yep. They're just the right pair of losers.

The guy is amazing. His district is blue, where Obama won big in 2008, Gore won big in 2000. Ryan always won elections with 60%+ votes. And he is a conservative through and through. He reminds me of Reagan who could win liberal votes without compromising his conservative beliefs. The guy is a gem.

To paraphrase Lloyd Bentsen in his debate against Dan Quayle:

I remember Ronald Reagan. Ronald Reagan was my Governor and President. Representative Ryan, you're no Ronald Reagan!

And you know how that 1988 race ended, don't you?

The guy is a scum
I agree

Are you kidding me? Nominating one of the right wing's rabid nut jobs? The Republicants seem committed to wage war against women, seniors, poor, middle class, gays, Hispanics, and college kids. Who does Romney Ryan help? Rich white men and hedge fund managers. Party on, Thurston Howell III...

Paul Ryan
He looks to be inbred?

Today's Democrat, folks.

vapid, mean spirited and out of ideas...

Sounds more like the republicans as they want the elderly to go without health care or social security ..The republican scum truly is evil.

Tim T.....doubling down on ignorance and hate.

republicans..doubling down on ignorance and hate
I agree

If you like and want the United States to be just like Greece, Spain, Italy, France, and the rest of the failing European countries vote for OBUMMA.

What are you on

That is stuff and nonsense, the US will never go the route of those failed states in the European union, in fact, if you wish to preserve free market principles, you'd be best served to vote for Obama and Biden come the fall.

Wow. That's bizarre thinking. Please elaborate.

Tweedledee and tweedledum....a perfect choice to face the Democrats....makes the reelection of the President a better choice

Matt Taibbi? Who is he I must be mistaken but didn.t Matt grow up in Boston along with his family and watched Romney destroy a State leave before his term was over and aided the thugs with Lax security at Logan airport by cutting funds to the State police and gave the job to someone who gave enough money back to ride a state police helicopter to work for her reamaining term and allow the State of Mass to commission a picture of her for the statehouse wall when she was never elected for the job.

Yes this is a typical of Republicans to leave enough time to pass as to think some have poor memories of poor records, its nice to see the flags at Mitts events waving probably all made in China.

Yes you have facts we all want facts and yes there is always something to be said about Mitt but to think Matt doesn;t hold a Yankee grudge one would be an idiot if you did know the facts.

Why did Mitt leave all his jobs before his time was done?Does the White House have enough string for Mitt so he can find his way home?

Mitt the Twit like any of us care what other people think,,,its in the cards like it or not back Mitt and get what you deserve, never did i think Mcain was a bad choice until he picked that loser.

There is less Republican money now than before, they will spend a million so not to give a dime back to the country, sounds like most insurance companies who owns them?

For those on the left who have any interest in not perpetuating their lie about Paul Ryan and Medicare:
"In an effort to scare senior citizens, Democrats repeated and overheated a charge ***that Politifact branded the 2011 “lie of the year”*** upon hearing that Rep. Paul Ryan, R-Wis., has joined Mitt Romney as a running mate. The Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee called Ryan “the architect of the Republican plan to kill Medicare” in a fundraising message sent by DCCC executive director Robby Mook. Mook explained the thinking behind making that charge in the next line, explaining that he wants to define Ryan in the minds of the American people as quickly as possible. Remember, Politifact is a Left-leaning outfit, yet even they felt compelled to slam Democrats for their egregious distortions of Paul Ryan's Medicare plan."

Oh OK PUPPET and we would believe your lies WHY?

The "Sound Bite Bulimics" supporting the destructive policies of the current Administration and Harry Reid led Senate should avoid the sound bite cafeteria of CNN and CNBC and try reading a book. I suggest the primer by Matt Taibbi, Griftopia as it comes from a prejudice left wing perspective. Then maybe move on to "Bought and paid for" by Charles Gasparino. "democracy Incorporated, by Sheldon Wolin might begin to dilute the Koolaide and just because I doubt they'll be able to get through more than one before the true Change supported by the so called "astro turf" true grass roots party, I suggest one more at this time called, "It Takes A Pillage", by Nomi Prins. The discussion Must be brought higher than the juvenile/sophomoric level that the left are drowning the country in. If you don't have intelligent ideas to offer, based in researched reality, then you are part of the problem. Try to play nice together, most of us have made it through Kindergarden.

Better hope for responsible change than the big bank owned administration we've suffered through so far. The current administration is so owned by wall street they dropped the prosecution of the Goldman firm and hardly anyone is in jail for the mess wall street made. The ineptitude of their management of the wall street bailouts allowed bonuses for what otherwise would have been bankrupt companies. And that's just for starters.

Obviously, it is clear that they are absolutely heartless. So many people are going to suffer if the win. Sadly it is the ones who are most vulnerable. These people call themselves philanthropists, if they truly were giving because they like helping the people who need the help the most, and not just to get tax breaks, them they would have consciences.

Americans are not that stupid, and they will vote for the other guy.

Silliness and hyperbole from the left.

When you actually understand the problem and his proposed solution (and not simply claim a guy who has been working on this issue for 20 yrs is "stupid", while it is you who is expert and enlightened), you'll understand his wisdom.

Until then, we should all expect more baseless smears from democrats. After all, it's been less than two weeks since the Obama folks accused Romney of being an accessory to Murder. Throwing grandma off a cliff can't be too far away...

If the goal is the well being of the American people, then answer the following; If Romney wins and somehow "rips out "Obamacare by it's roots"
Will Americans die as a result?
If the goal is interety via financial transparency, then answer the following; Are Americans better served by Romney hiding his Tax Returns?
Is it purely Right Wing Propaganda when Harry Reid is attacked for calling out Romney on his refusal to release his Tax Returns?
No filler No by products.

Absolutely the right pair. Hollywood could not have written this plot any better. Now let's watch them self destruct.

jrey
What is your drug of chose"

Choose one for your tax dollars;
A) Programs like unemployment, social security, and Medicare.
B) Trillions of dollars spent on Wars based on lies about WMD.
It is so much easier to attack seniors, disabled vets , and children than these cooperate welfare giants making windfall profits on the backs of Americans Taxpayers.

jrey: the figure is over 48%. and climbing.

48% number is for Americans who don't pay any fed. income taxes, because the they earn little or nothing at all. 35% figure is for Americans who receive food stamps and other entitlements. There's no way that many Americans can't support themselves without direct government handout.. Clearly most of them are just gaming the system, and Democratic party is happily going along with it, and even encouraging the fraud.

At the core of liberalism is the spoiled child — miserable, as all spoiled children are, unsatisfied, demanding, ill-disciplined, despotic and useless. Liberalism is a philosophy of sniveling brats. —P. J. O’Rourke

thanks cc

You're quoting P.J. O'Rourke??? Oh well, then you MUST be correct! Hahahahahahaha

Of course you left out that the core of the conservative scum is inbreeding

Extreme GOP-Cons is the party of name calling,me first, hatred, propaganda, needless wars, deregulation, anything for profits, the uninformed, and the support of the 1% All this with the misuse of the Bible to justify their bigotry.

Love that quote. Romney-Ryan in 2012!!

This was a great choice for a man who instead of staying Gov of Mass hands it over to a person who kept the same lax security at Logan airport so Bins men could steal a plane and land it into the trade center. The Mitt goes top the Olympics and quits early never has he ever finished anything. So we are not looking at just a VP but maybe a Pres hopeful with Mitt in charge.I doubt if he would finish the term he would give up the white house for a hot dog stand I bet if it would make money.

This will sit well with Norwalk repblicans who have no use for the elders in Norwalk they do stand in the way of progress unless they move into housing and sell to developers

The man selected is pure Republican a Rowayton type man like Dave NcCarthy

His budget plans include big cuts, and there's ample room for Democrats to continue with their "Romneyhood narrative." The nonpartisan Center on Budget and Policy Priorities estimates 62 percent of Ryan's cuts are to programs for the poor. (NEON)

Ryan's budget proposals have included big changes to Medicare - including gradually replacing the program with a voucher program for private health care, and gradually raising the retirement age. That could scare older Americans, a crucial voting bloc
(City Carting)

Norwalk this is your election, someone tell Dick Mitts on the phone they need lessons on cautsic rude behavior towards anyone who wants quality of life put back on the table.

Mitt wants the Kool aid given the some of the Norwalk Democrats that brew Dick came up with was probably tested at the Inn first.

huh?

ARE YOU to stupid to read

The price Obama has to pay for his dismal record is that he can’t win merely by painting his opponent as hard hearted and out of touch. His supposed hands-on understanding of the problems of America’s families hasn’t done them much good as unemployment continues and economic growth slows.

Romney, on the other hand, has failed to transform his negative attacks on Obama’s record into personal shortcomings. It is not enough to say that Obama’s programs haven’t worked and that he has not kept his promises. You must then say that he is incompetent and hasn’t a clue about what to do. Romney needs to show that Obama is, indeed, an “amateur” as Bill Clinton allegedly called him, in over his head, with no solutions.

Romney needs to ask what skills Obama brought to the job of saving the economy. He’s a lawyer, after all, and a community organizer after that. The failures of the Obama record need to become evidence of his incompetence for them to have their full effect.

Oddly, even as both campaigns get more vicious, none is going for the jugular. Obama paints Romney as remote, cold, and out of touch, but not as a danger or a threat. Romney says Obama has bad ideas and ill conceived policies but he doesn’t go the next step and call his competence in economics into question.

But Obama has a problem. Romney is really not a threat and Obama really is incompetent.

Had I not paid into social security these last 45 years (at the max amount btw) and instead invested the same amount each payday in an indexed fund (analogous to a mutual fund on market indices) my 'retirement account would enable me to receive roughly EIGHT times more than social security will pay. And I would have spare capital to pass on to my children when I pass. AND, the social security fund account was RAIDED by our masters in DC and spent. Now we have a real problem! 90 million boomers are set to retire and it will cost the government over 110,000,000,000.00 (one hundred ten trillion dollars) to pay social security, medicare and other related entitlements. WHO IS GOING TO PAY FOR THAT??
Obama/biden are hopeless thinking a tax on the 1% will make any more than a dent in the problem. Its time to man up: everyone must pay more in taxes BUT ONLY IF THE GOVERNMENT AT EVERY LEVEL CUTS EXPENSES.

Paul Ryan has advocated the privitization of social security, any fool that believes there is no reason for "caveat emptor" when it comes to playing with the market, should vote for him and Romney; most Americans, bless their souls are not fools.

but there are fools out there who will vote for these two at their own peril.

Not seniors of course, they know better.

The outsourcer and his apprentice, are ready for their close ups!

Look at his picture he even looks like a rat

Connecticut voters will be one of the liberal left states that will eventually coronate the first dictator of the United Socialist States of America. Your beloved dictator will confiscate your emplyers's businesses, your jobs, your wealth, your human rights and all of your property. You're going to love it!

HAHA Funny I love it when people post when they are intoxicated

The choice helped me decide to vote for Obama/Biden.
