Yorktown, Putnam Valley Teens Charged With Throwing Eggs At Female Motorist

YORKTOWN HEIGHTS, N.Y. -- Three Yorktown teens and one Putnam Valley teen, whose names are being withheld due to youth offender eligibility, have been charged with reckless endangerment in the second degree after throwing eggs at a motorist on Tuesday, Jan. 6, according to Yorktown police.

Police said they received a call from a female motorist on Saturday, Jan. 2 stating that her vehicle was stuck in its windshield by an egg while traveling on Gomer Street. An officer was assigned to the case and conducted an investigation which revealed that the defendants struck the female motorist's vehicle with eggs while traveling in a vehicle on Gomer Street, causing the motorist to become startled and swerve on the roadway, police said.

On Jan. 6, the defendants voluntarily appeared at police headquarters and were arrested in reference to the incident.

Following processing on the charge, the defendants were issued appearance tickets directing them to answer the charges in Yorktown Court on Feb. 10 at 6 p.m.

The defendants were then released on their own recognizance.
