Teen Charged With Stealing From Jefferson Valley Mall

YORKTOWN, N.Y. -- An 18-year-old male, whose name is being withheld due to possible youthful offender status, has been charged with petty larceny, a class A misdemeanor, according to Yorktown police.

Officers responded to a report of a shoplifter in custody at Sears in the Jefferson Valley Mall, 600 Lee Blvd., on Friday, Nov.13, officials report.

The teen had allegedly removed items from packaging, concealed them on his person and moved past all points of purchase, exiting the store without paying, police report.

The teen was arrested and transported to Yorktown Police Department for processing, officials report.

Once processed, he was issued an appearance ticket and released on his own recognizance, according to officials.

He is due to appear in Yorktown Justice Court on Dec.12, police report.
