Troopers were contacted by employees at Kohl’s in Cortlandt on Thursday afternoon, where there were reports of three shoplifters that had stolen $1,252.42 in merchandise.

Upon arrival, troopers determined that Ossining residents Mariano Ferrin, 71, Monica Ferrin-Velez, 36 and Yadira Guerrero, 42, had attempted to steal the items, allegedly using a child to steal clothing in the process.

All three were charged with a felony count of fourth-degree grand larceny and endangering the welfare of a child, a misdemeanor. Each was arraigned in the Town of Cortlandt Justice Court and remanded to the Westchester County Jail in lieu of $500 cash bail or $1,000 bond. They are due back in court later this year to answer the charges.
