Police: Cortlandt Man Arrested After High-Speed Chase Upstate

David A. Brown, 25, of Cortlandt Manor, was arrested April 28 on charges of second-degree criminal mischief, second-degree reckless endangerment, resisting arrest, third-degree unlawful fleeing a police officer and numerous vehicle and traffic violations, according to New York State Police.

On Sunday at about 10:40 a.m., a state trooper attempted to pull over Smith, who riding a 2007 Yamaha motorcycle, after a road rage incident on State Route 17 in the Town of Chester, state police said.

Brown failed to stop and led police on a high-speed pursuit into the Town of Wallkill, police said. Troopers received a tip from a motorist that Brown had left State Route 17 at Exit 119, police said. Troopers went down a cul-de-sac and blocked off the street, but Brown attempted to weave his way between the police cars, hitting two of the parked police cars, police said. Brown was then taken into custody without incident, police said.

Brown was arraigned in the Town of Wallkill and sent to Orange County Jail with bail set at $6,000 cash or $20,000 bond.
