A man who went missing in Cortlandt in late January was found dead on Monday, state police said on Tuesday afternoon.
State police responded to Lexington Avenue in Mohegan Lake to investigate the report of a deceased subject located in a wooded area.
After further investigation, troopers were able to identify 59-year-old Joseph Sharpe as the deceased.
Sharpe's death does not appear to be suspicious, police said.
An autopsy was performed Tuesday morning by Dr. Virginia Richards of the Westchester Medical Examiner's Office, according to police. The cause and manner of death is pending toxicology.
Sharpe had last been seen leaving Mohegan Park on Lexington Avenue in Cortlandt on Thursday, Jan. 26.
