Garbage Can On Fire Near Skate Park In Cortlandt

CORTLANDT, N.Y. -- Westchester County Police responded to the skate park adjacent to the Morabito Community Center on Westbrook Drive on a report that a garbage can was on fire in an Oct. 30 incident, police officials said.

A tire had been placed in the metal can and set ablaze along with some wood and other debris. The fire was extinguished by the Lake Mohegan Fire Department, according to Westchester County Police.

An officer checked the wooded areas around the skate park for any witnesses or suspects but no one was located, police said.
