Daniel V. Piamonte, 60, was charged with criminal contempt, a felony, on Monday, April 4, police said.

He was arrested in Cortlandt court where he was appearing in an unrelated criminal case, police said.

State troopers investigating a report of a domestic disturbance at a Cortlandt home in February found that Piamonte had violated an order of protection by contacting someone who lived there, police said.

Piamonte fled the scene before the officers arrived, police said.

He was arraigned on the charge, released, and is scheduled to appear in court at a later date and time, police said.
