Roger Pivarnik, Sr., 76, Of Croton-on-Hudson

CROTON-ON-HUDSON, N.Y. - Roger Pivarnik, Sr., a resident of Croton on Hudson and formerly a longtime resident of Port Chester, died June 18. He was 76.

Pivarnik was born Feb. 11, 1937, in Port Chester, to Henry and Jennie Harbolick Pivarnik. He was raised and educated in Port Chester and graduated from Archbishop Stepinac High School in 1954. He served in the United States Army. He was a plaster and brick layer for P.W. Nethercott Masonry in Port Chester. He was a former parishioner of the Our Lady of Mercy Church and choir member, and a former member of the Washington Engine Hose Company of the Port Chester Volunteer Fire Department.

Pivarnik is survived by his sons, Henry Pivarnik (Mary-Jo) of The Colony, Texas, and Roger Pivarnik (Teresa) of Port Chester; and two grandchildren.

Calling hours are from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday, June 20 at Craft Memorial Home, Inc. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Friday, June 21 at Our Lady of Mercy Church, 260 Westchester Ave., Port Chester.
