Richard Angelo Carbone, 85, Of Verplanck, Retired From Montrose VA Hospital

VERPLANCK, N.Y. - Richard Angelo Carbone of Verplanck died Aug. 13. He was 85.

Carbone served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War, he was an active member of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Society, the Verplanck Fire Dept., the Peekskill Elks Club, Verplanck Senior Citizens, and Disabled American Veterans Auxiliary. He retired from the Montrose VA Hospital after 33 years of service.

Carbone is survived by his wife, Kay; sister, Carmen Pagliaro; children, Richard (Lisa), Linda, and Michael (Linda); six grandchildren; and two great-grandsons. He was predeceased by his brothers, Serafino, John, Tony; and sister, Kay Sgro.

A memorial Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 24 at The Assumption Church in Peekskill.

Donations in Carbone’s name may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or Disabled American Veterans Auxiliary.
