SLEEP HOLLOW, N.Y. -- Lee Covell, 68, of Largo, Fla. and Brevard, N.C., died Monday, Aug. 3, at Bay Care Alliant Hospital.
She is survived by her husband of 47 years, Peter Covell.
She grew up on the John D. Rockefeller Estate in Pocantico Hills and graduated from Sleepy Hollow High School near Pocantico Hills before attending Syracuse University for two years and graduating from the University of South Florida with a Bachelor of Arts degree in education.
She was a retired elementary school teacher and taught third-grade in Syracuse, N.Y. and the Pinellas County School District in Florida. She was a member of Grace Christian Fellowship, the Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd, and former member of Christ Presbyterian Church.
She was also a member of Kappa Kappa Gamma National Sorority, the Florida Wheaten Club, Windjammers of Clearwater Sailing Association and Connestee Falls Art League.
