Giammetto was born July 29, 1925, in New York City, to Carmelo and Angelina (Tortorici) Mastropolo. She worked as a seamstress for Nan Flower in Peekskill retiring in 1983. She was a member in many senior citizen groups; the Verplanck Seniors, Nor-Cort Seniors, Cortlandt Seniors and Springvale Senior Citizen Club. She was a parishioner of St. Patrick's Church in Verplanck for many years.
Giammetto is survived by her daughter, Lori (Michael) Zulla of Montrose; two granddaughters; siblings, Grace Ruggiero, Anna Facchiano and Peter and Josephine Mastropolo; a goddaughter; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her son James in 1957.
Calling hours are Monday, Sept. 30 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Edward F. Carter Funeral Home, 170 Kings Ferry Road, Montrose. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 1 at St. Patrick's Church in Verplanck. Burial will follow at St. Raymond's Cemetery in Bronx.
