VERPLANCK, N.Y. - Florence (Tice) Devitt of Verplanck and longtime resident of Peekskill and Montrose, died Nov. 5. She was 82.
Devitt was born March 21, 1931, in Peekskill, to Delavan and Florence Tice. She was a 1949 graduate of Hendrick Hudson High School. She worked in housekeeping at the Peekskill Hospital.
Devitt is survived by her children, Kathleen Lachky, Michael Devitt, Joyce McNeil, Florence Jordon, Joseph Devitt, John Devitt, Patricia Singleton and Richard Devitt; 12 grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; brothers, Delavan and Albert Tice; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents; husband, Richard; and sister, Shirley Emery.
A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 9:30 a.m. Friday, Nov. 8 at the Church of the Assumption, Peekskill. Interment will follow at the Assumption Cemetery, Cortlandt Manor.
