WESTCHESTER, N.Y. -- From live music to farmers markets, there's plenty to do this Memorial Day weekend in Peekskill and Cortlandt:

Friday, May 24

Cortlandt Memorial Day Ceremony: 1:30 p.m. Town officials will honor Veterans with a ceremony at the Morabito Community Center, 29 Westbrook Dr., Cortlandt.

Robert Poe: 7:30 p.m. Robert Poe is a blues rock, country-tinged singer/songwriter with a vocal talent in the tradition of Americana baritones like Dave Alvin, Tony Joe White, and Greg Brown. Admission is $10. BeanRunner Café, 201 S. Division St., Peekskill.       

Shadetree Mechanics: 9:30 p.m. Mike "The Rev" Rochelle is the powerhouse lead vocalist of Shadetree Mechanics, singing blues/rock tunes from Muddy Waters to Etta James, BB King to Buddy Guy, Eric Clapton to Hendrix. Admission is a $10 entertainment fee or $5 with dinner entrée. 12 Grapes, 12 N. Division St., Peekskill.

Saturday, May 25

Saturday Stories and More: 11 a.m. A new monthly program for children of all ages. Just drop in the last Saturday of each month and join library staff for stories, songs and other fun activities. Croton Free Library, 171 Cleveland Drive, Croton-on-Hudson.

Cortlandt Giant Tag Sale: 10 a.m. – 3 p.m. Open to the public. St. Columbanus, 122 Oregon Road, Cortlandt Manor.

Tony Jefferson Groove Project: 7:30 p.m. Jefferson has appeared at jazz festivals around the world and is an active player on the New York scene. He has been a guest clinician in high school and college workshops and has taught Master classes nationally and abroad. Admission is $10. BeanRunner Café, 201 S. Division St., Peekskill.                 

Harry Rios & the Nippy Thieves: 9:30 p.m. Harry Rios is a multi-instrumentalist, music educator and soulful R&B vocalist. Harry has also spent time as a studio musician and producer. His credits include projects with Wyclef Jean, Lauryn Hill, Kay Gee from Naughty by Nature, Common, and Slick Rick. Harry scored the music for the film "White Boys" directed by Danny Hoch. Admission is a $10 entertainment fee or $5 with dinner entrée. 12 Grapes, 12 N. Division St., Peekskill.

Sunday, May 26

Croton-on-Hudson Farmers Market Opening: 9 a.m. – 2 p.m. Croton Municipal parking lot, Croton-on-Hudson.

Kids' Open Mic Night: 5:30 p.m. A showcase for talented musicians and singers age 17 and under. Sign-up begins at 5:15 p.m. Kids under 15 must be accompanied by an adult.
