Oniqua Phillip of Yonkers, known as "Nikki," was killed when a truck serving drinks involved in the "Last Lap" festival ran her over and crushed her to death this past Tuesday night, according to the Antigua Observer.

Phillip had arrived in Antigua on July 24, the Antigua Observer said.

Novella Phillip, the victim's mother, said she was not contacted by the Festivals Commission in Antigua and wants answers to make sure the incident doesn't occur against, the Antigua Observer said.

Nikki Phillip, a graduate of Sacred Heart in Yonkers and Penn State University, was a social worker who was one year away from completing her degree requirements in Nursing. She was the mother of a young son named Eden.

A GoFundMe page has been set up in her memory to help her family pay for the cost of bringing her body back to Yonkers.
