Boscobel’s docents will guide and entertain daytime visitors with stories of early 19-century yuletide traditions and at-home entertaining during the Federal period. The mansion is decorated with ribbons, greenery, flowers and fruit as it would have been in the early 1800s, when Elizabeth Dyckman was head of household.

In 2014, Boscobel celebrated a makeover of its grand entry hall, an important historical upgrade that exudes the beauty and style of the well-to-do in 1804.

Boscobel’s Executive Director Steve Miller says, “We are delighted to offer beautiful, historically based holiday visits to one of America's most elegant homes. Enjoy seeing how our popular traditions of the season started two hundred years ago.”

Daytime holiday tours are offered Nov. 20 through Dec. 31 from 10 a.m.-3 p.m. Boscobel is closed Tuesdays, Thanksgiving and Christmas. Each guided tour is about one hour, and reservations are not necessary. Tickets can be purchased in person or online at www.boscobel.org. Friends of Boscobel members and children 5 and younger are admitted free. Memberships are available for purchase online at www.boscobel.org.

Boscobel is on Route 9D in Garrison, one mile south of Cold Spring and directly across the river from West Point. From April through October, hours are 9:30 a.m.-5 p.m.; the first tour is at 10 a.m., last at 4 p.m.; November and December, 9:30 a.m.-4 p.m., and the last tour is at 3 p.m.
