Coast Guard Pulls Tug Boat Stuck In Ice Near West Point

CORTLANDT, N.Y. -- Coast Guard cutters were called up the Hudson River to help a tug boat that was trapped in ice on Wednesday, according to LoHud.com.

The tug boat was en route to Newburgh with approximately 27,000 barrels of heating oil, LoHud.com said.

Two cutters were dispatched and carved a channel through the ice that allowed the tug boat to travel north, LoHud.com reported.
