The annual award is given to employees who best exhibit service, teamwork, excellence, and concern for the quality of life in their communities while on the job and at home.

Through her job in Con Edison's construction department, she spearheaded improvements that helped streamline operations and limit red tape for customers and co-workers alike.

“As a construction management specialist, her commitment to excellent external and internal customer service stems from a belief in treating others as she herself would want to be treated,” Tom Poirier, the department's general manager, said in a statement.

Poirier used an example of Melovitz-Goh interceding and ensuring a new area resident would have working electricity in time for Christmas in their home.

She was also honored for her volunteer work, as she devotes time and energy to the Rosary Hill hospice, Torbank Nursery School in Ossining, the Lincoln Titus School in Cortlandt Manor, Toys for Tots and Ossining Food Pantry.

Among her other volunteer efforts, Melovitz-Goh also participates in multiple lupus and cancer walks.
