YONKERS, N.Y. -- For those who love raw cookie dough -- but have been concerned about the health risks of eating raw eggs -- take heart: Your sweet tooth can now indulge in Stew Leonard's edible cookie dough at its ice cream counter in Yonkers.
The new product, which was introduced this week, is made with pasteurized eggs and heat-treated flour and, according to a spokeswoman, is "delicious." Not to mention safe to indulge in.
The dough, available in a cone or a cup, sells for $3.99 for a single scoop and $6.99 for a double. By Saturday, March 11, it should also be available at its Norwalk and Danbury stores.
