Friday, Jan. 4

Tot Shabbat: 6 p.m. This free dinner, for members and nonmembers of the Temple Israel of Northern Westchester, is designed for children ages 2 to 5. Children and families will recite blessings, light candles, sing songs and prayers, and participate in a story. Register by calling 914-271-4705 or emailing connect@tinw.org. The temple is located at 31 Glengary Road, Croton.

The Real Rough Diamonds: 7:30 to 10:30 p.m. This band blends Americana, garage band bravado and original songwriting, set to stand-up bass. Admission is $10. Bean Runner, 201 S. Division St., Peekskill.

Petey Hop and the Jack Rabbits: 9:30 p.m. to 12:30 a.m. Enjoy a variety of acoustic and electric guitar playing by this blues guitarist. There is a $5 entertainment fee for all, including diners. Call 914-737-6624 for reservations. 12 Grapes, 12 N. Division St., Peekskill. 

Saturday, Jan. 5

Caregiver Support Group: 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. This group provides resources and opportunities for relaxation for caregivers of all types and is presented by Leave the Light On Foundation. Each session has a specific theme. Groups meet at the Hudson Valley Hospital Center's Dempsey House, 1992 Crompond Road, Cortlandt Manor.

Project Feeder Watch: 10 a.m. Every Saturday and Sunday until April, join Sawmill River Audubon volunteers to count and record birds visiting the feeding station. No preregistration needed. The nature center at Croton Point County Park, Croton Point Avenue, Croton.

Family Yoga: 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. This class is designed for families with children ages 4 and up. It combines games, circus yoga activities, partner work and discussion to quiet the mind. Admission is $25 per adult and child, and $5 for additional participants. Classes are held at Pilates on Hudson, 8 John Walsh Blvd., Peekskill. 

David Kain Group: 7:30 to 10:30 p.m. This jazz group strayed from the standards years ago and has been performing original compositions since. Admission is $10. See this performance at the BeanRunner Café, 201 S. Division St., Peekskill. 

The Blues… Unleashed: 9:30 p.m. to 12:30 a.m. Prepare to dance and sing with The Blues Dogs. There is a $5 entertainment fee for all, including diners. 12 Grapes, 12 N. Division St., Peekskill.

New York Pet Reptile Exhibit: 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. See thousands of live reptiles and amphibians on display for sale as pets. Westchester County Center, 198 Central Ave., White Plains.

Animal Adventures: Whooo's Out There: Meet a few of Teatown’s ambassador animals in this program featuring owls. This program is for families with children ages 4 and over. It is free for members and $5 for nonmembers. To register call 914-762-2912, Ext. 110. Teatown is at 1600 Spring Valley Road Ossining. 

Elaine Romanelli: 4 to 6 p.m. See this poetic singer-songwriter with no cover charge. BeanRunner Café, 201 S. Division St., Peekskill.

The Trebled Hearts: 6 to 8:30 p.m. The acoustic guitar duo of Tom Oliverio and Kristina Koller perform. There is an $8 food and drink minimum for all those attending. 12 Grapes, 12 N. Division St., Peekskill.
