Cortlandt's Bugara To Serve As Aide In Buchanan Parade

CORTLANDT MANOR, N.Y. – Sean Bugara of Cortlandt Manor will serve as parade aide in this year’s Buchanan St. Patrick’s Day Parade.

Bugara teaches at Blue Mountain Middle School, where he also coaches wrestling, track and field, cross-country and tennis.

He is one of the founding fathers of the new Cortlandt Community Rowing Association in Verplanck.

Bugara was born in Cleveland to an Irish mother and a steel-worker father. He then moved to Rockaway Beach in Queens, N.Y., where he attended a specialized high school to study marine biology. He continued his studies at SUNY Cortland and moved on to serve as a Peace Corps health worker in Paraguay.

He then earned his master’s degree in science education from Columbia University.  

Bugara will serve with grand marshals Sherry and Butch Jahoda and fellow aide Steve Trend.
