The park is on Westchester Avenue and the public is invited to the ceremony, which begins at 11 a.m.

The town will also dedicate a tree planted in memory of Robert “Sinbad” Sinclair, a beloved employee of the town Highway Department, and a bench, which honors Jefferey Kessler, the late son of another longtime town employee, Thomas Kessler.

The younger Kessler, who grew up near Lake Meahagh, died several years ago.

“He (Sinclair) was a fixture in our community, and beloved by all, including me. He was always smiling and always had a kind word for everybody,” Puglisi said Monday.

According to Puglisi, the upgraded park includes a basketball court, walking path, community garden, and rowing dock.
