New York's Unemployment Rate Sits Above National Average

WESTCHESTER COUNTY, N.Y. -- The national unemployment rate for February sat at 5.5 percent, but New York's was slightly worse, coming in at 5.8 percent, according to Business Insider.

The Empire State may have sat above the national average, but it was also far from the worst. Several states, including neighbors New Jersey and Connecticut who both had unemployment rates of 6.4 percent, Business Insider reported. 

The highest unemployment rate in the nation went to Nevada at 7.1 percent, while the lowest was Nebraska at just 2.7 percent, Business Insider said.
