Danny Manning, a member of the Class of 2013, is now a senior at Saint Joseph’s University in Philadelphia where he plays lacrosse as a member of the Hawks team.

Manning is also the winner of the university’s 2014 Ultimate Warrior Award.

The NEC announced Monday that the face-off specialist earned the weekly nod for going “a blistering 26-of-37 (70.3 percent) from the X and adding “seven ground balls in SJU's games against Monmouth and Drexel” this past weekend.

In SJU's 6-5 overtime win over Monmouth University in New Jersey on Friday, Manning went 13-for-15 for a single-game, career-high percentage of 86.7 percent to go with four ground balls, the league’s office reported.

He won the first 11 face-off possessions of the game that spanned the first, second, and start of the third quarter, and won the face-off in overtime that gave the Hawks their final possession on their way to their third consecutive win.

In the Hawks' 12-8 loss at Drexel University in Philadelphia on Sunday, Manning went 13-of-22 from the circle, including 9-of-12 in the first half, and added three ground balls, the league said.

Manning is to return to action on Saturday, March 18 at Delaware (6-3).

The opening face-off at Delaware Stadium in Newark, Del., is slated for 1 p.m.
