CROTON-ON-HUDSON, N.Y. -- Croton-on-Hudson based pediatric dentist Dr. Meredeth Glenn encouraged Carrie E. Tompkins Elementary School to engage in healthy habits – ranging from getting enough sleep and exercising to eat healthy foods – during her visit to the school on Feb. 24.
Dr. Glenn’s visit was part of National Children’s Dental Health Month in February, an initiative spearheaded by the American Dental Association. CET students shared their knowledge of healthy habits with Dr. Glenn by identifying healthy and unhealthy foods and pledged to brush their teeth twice a day.
To teach students more about dentists, Dr. Glenn read the book “Show Me Your Smile,” featuring Dora the Explorer and friends. In the book, students learned about x-rays and tools dentists use such as the dental mirror and explorer. The visit concluded with a screening of a short video titled “Dudley Visits the Dentist.”
