The Lake Meahagh Community Garden was created this past spring, and Green Team members have been involved since its opening, learning gardening basics alongside community members and team adviser, Hendrick Hudson science teacher Stephanie McQuade.

The Green Team is hoping to build a teaching garden at Hendrick Hudson High School in the future. In the meantime, team members work on a dedicated plot at the community garden, where they are growing spinach, Swiss chard and other leafy greens.

The community garden is open to all community members.

Anyone interested in getting involved should contact Community Garden Director Carol Branca at branca.carol@yahoo.com; or John Palmiotto, Town of Cortlandt Parks and Recreation director, at 914-734-1050.
