MONTROSE, N.Y. An investigation into marijuana sales among the staff of Hendrick Hudson High School is being conducted by district administration, after New York State Police said they conducted an investigation of their own into the staff.
No arrests have been made in the case and the case has been labeled closed by state police.
A statement released Friday by Superintendent Daniel McCann said, At this point, we are conducting an internal investigation. Appropriate disciplinary action will be taken as warranted at the conclusion of our investigation.
Due to the nature of these allegations, we are prohibited from releasing any additional details, including name(s), charges or allegations," he said. "Id like to take a moment to thank the law enforcement officials involved for their speedy and thorough investigation in this matter.
McCann did not specify what actions the school might take.
New York State Police Investigator Brian Hoff said police did not discover enough evidence to press criminal charges, and that they have turned over all information discovered during their investigation to the school district. At no time, Hoff added, were students involved in any way.
Hoff said approximately 10 teachers were questioned in the investigation, and the state's part of the investigation is closed. We are cooperating with the school district and they are cooperating with us, and all of our findings have been turned over to the school district, he said.
When asked by a reporter on whether he believed there was suspicious activity going on at the high school, Hoff responded with his own question and answer. Does it surprise me that there are administrative investigations going on," he asked. "No.
